We've been married for 2 1/2 years. We recently moved from VA to live in NC. We love being together and rarely spend time apart. We just recently bought our first home, and hope to soon start a family. We are entering this contest in hopes to finally change all of our bad habits, and become healthier. This is something we've put off for way too long. We plan to start a family soon, so we need to get our butts in gear! We should win because anyone who knows us will tell you, this is the most committed we've ever been. This hasn't been the easiest life for either of us, but we're always smiling, and trying to find ways to become better people. Winning this contest isn't nearly as important to us as turning our lives around is. We definitely plan to succeed by being eachother's "trainer" and getting eachother off of our lazy butts and to step up to the plate! We're ready to be the people we know we can be! Our combined weight is currently 443 pounds. We plan to soon has a combined weight of 350.

Things are looking up....

For starters, I'm completely psyched about my 5 lb weight loss this week!  My husband told me when I lost 5 lbs in one week, I could go buy something I wanted, and I did :) I am proud of my husband also in his 2 lb weight loss.  I have switched to a different department at work and I like it alot more.  I'm also getting a lot more hours so money issues are a bit better.  I also plan to post some progress photos here soon.....

Still Chugging Along

 
It has been a while since we've posted a blog, mainly due to crazy daily schedules....but we're continuing with our dieting and exercising.  I have to admit the exercising has been lacking the past few weeks.  We switched gyms due to our old gym being a 30 minute drive away.  Our new gym is only about 5-10.  We had a bit of a downslide last week when we went to VA to visit family.  My husband and I helped his mom move to a new place, so we got a bit of exercise in with all of the junk we had to move for her (including moving her stuff up a flight of stairs).  I went to visit my dad when we were up there, and he ordered pizza.  I guess I could've turned it down but he seemed excited to do it for us.  The weigh in before we went up there I had lost 3 pounds and I was so excited to be in the 220's.  Then the weigh in after returned I gained 3 pounds back =(  That sucked but I'm going to lose it back this week.  I'm going to try to get back on track with these daily blogs.  Overall we're still doing well.  We're not losing as much weight as we'd like to but we're still committed and plan to keep working at it.

Week 6 Day 1

  Well yesterday we had a hard workout at the gym.  We weighed in today and I lost 1 lbs. and why wife didn't lose any.  Yesterday some friends of ours wanted to go out to eat and we told them that we would only do subway.  We're pretty proud of that.  We are going to try to do some workouts before it gets too late.

Week 5 Day 4

  I feel really bad because we have been having a hard time keep up on blogs with our crazy work scheduele.  On our week 5 day 1 I lost a pound and my wife lost a pound too.  Right now we are up in Virginia visiting family.  Its hard to keep up being a state away but we are trying.  We work early and late shifts at random and thats our hardest part.  Its hard to get a rythem when your working different shifts all the time.

Week 4 Day 1

  Well today we weighed in.  I gained a pound and my wife lost 2 lbs.  I've been eating pretty good and working out good.  I'm not sure if the weight gain is from my quantity of food or maybe some muscle gain.  I'm goona try and make sure I'm not having too many snacks, even if they are good for me.  I'm not sure how to find out if its muscle.  My wife did good and I'm proud of her!  After this, I'm defintaly steping everything up another level this week!
